Climb every mountain higher…
All year we will praise, contradict, celebrate or criticise the decisions we make for new ideas, campaigns and processes. Sometimes a little to quickly so at this time of year when I’m planning for the future path of Norseal I find it’s a great time to reflect on the previous year. Did we achieve what we set out to do and did it deliver to our expectations?
We started the year with a brand new ERP. Going live January 2nd following only 3 months implementation. The team (especially Kelly) worked round the clock and delivered an acceptable customer experience. It has since taken us the rest of the year to develop and tweak the processes to make it a industry leading system with CRM and automated purchasing. Bear with us, this will continue to get better.
Other projects we’d previously implemented which are growing to fulfil their potential.
Inspect – started life as a simple fire door inspection app but expanded to a full cradle to grave door management system assisting manufacturers, installers, and inspectors to comply with the ‘Golden Thread’
Academy – first in house trainings have taken place. Watch this space for great opportunities in 2023
Customer Delight – A new initiative which started life as a simple customer survey but developed in to the overall business focus of Norseal. Watch out for future developments from us next year which have the common theme of positive customer experience.
Outside of the day to day business we were also shortlisted for a few of awards. We are very proud of our membership and participation in the
Guild of Architectural Ironmongers (GAI) trade organisation and early in the year we won the Innovation award for the Complete Sliding Door Sealing System beating some well respected companies with fantastic products.
In November at the annual Education lunch we were shortlisted for Customer Focus and Innovation. We weren’t so fortunate this time and lost out to some great companies and individuals but we can be proud we were the only company in the door sealing sector to be shortlisted. I’ll happily take that as a win.
Whilst discussing GAI, I continue to play a role on the Education and examination committees. It’s been a bloody hard year but we have a great team and I’m proud of what we have achieved. Thank you Rachel and the team for making it so enjoyable. If you feel you are that way inclined I’d highly recommend joining up to a committee or group, it’s highly rewarding. Kudos Simon (Sutton) for continuing to represent the GAI as a brand ambassador in the North & Borders
We continue to work hard to develop our offering and bring our customers the service they deserve. We have set the bar high but there is still a way to go and we cannot achieve any of this without the dedication of Team Norseal. From our longest standing employee of 22 years to our latest apprentices, Thank you all very much.
