Cotswold Doors has provided a complete set of customised BM Trada Q Mark door sets and associated ironmongery for the Chiltern Vale Apartments project in Bedfordshire. The doors feature a range of acoustic and intumescent seals that help to ensure their sound, thermal and fire safety credentials.

Constructed with a strong emphasis on sustainability by main contractor Willmott Dixon, the Chiltern Vale Apartments feature a range of eco-friendly features, including energy-efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting systems. To provide a comfortable and luxurious living environment, each apartment features high-end finishes and offers residents stunning views of the surrounding area.

Cotswold Doors supplied a package of bespoke BM Trada Q Mark door sets and ironmongery for the Chiltern Vale Apartments. The apartments required high-quality, made-to-measure doors that would complement their contemporary design and add an element of tranquillity and luxury to each living space. Cotswold Doors' skilled team created a range of doors, including fire-rated entrance doors, internal doors, and balcony doors, which were tailored to the specific requirements of the project. The doors were manufactured using the finest materials and finished to an exceptional standard, ensuring that they would stand the test of time and provide residents with a secure and stylish entrance to their homes.

Robust acoustic insulation was a key requirement for the apartment entrance doors to maintain a luxury, peaceful environment for residents. To this end, they feature Norseal NOR810S seals, unobtrusive slimline drop seals that provide efficient acoustic insulation as well as protection against the passage of smoke. NOR810S is spring-loaded and self-levelling, so it provides a practical but discreet solution to providing sound attenuation up to 35dB as well as fire-resistance in accordance with BS476: Part 22,  and smoke requirements BS 8214. NOR810S has passed a 1,000,000 cycle test with ease.

On the Chiltern Vale Apartments project, the Cotswold doors feature Norseal intumescent and NOR710 perimeter compression seals in white, which suit the project's aesthetics. Fitted around the head and jambs, the NOR710 complements the acoustic insulation offered by the drop seal. Its design is based on ‘dual air pocket technology’, which acts in the same way as triple glazing. This multi-purpose seal, which can be retrofitted, is ideal for applications that require a smoke and acoustic seal, and is acoustically capable of achieving up to 48 dB of sound reduction.
