With over 50,000 people taking part, the Great North Run is undoubtedly the worlds biggest half marathon and two members of the Norseal team were part of the occasion this year.

Neil Smeatom and Anton Stalker ran the 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields and both managed times of 1:50 and 1:46 respectively.

It was a beautiful day but maybe not the best conditions for running as it was a bit warm but both guys enjoyed it.

Running my first ever half marathon I was a bit nervous and didn’t know quite what to expect.

I was also running to raise money for charity so there was a bit of pressure not to let anyone down.

But once I got there and to be part of such a massive event with the crowd supporting you all the way it was fantastic!

Anton Stalker

Anton was running to raise money for Water Aid, a charity working hard to provide clean water, toilets and good hygiene to those who need it the most.
